Men's Golf in 10th at Morris Williams

AUSTIN, Texas - The Baylor men's golf team fired a two round total of 611 (303-308) and are sitting alone in 10th place after day one of the Morris Williams Intercollegiate. The Bears are hoping to move up the leader board when the tournament concludes Tuesday at the 6,906-yard, par-72 Austin Country Club. Sophomore Colton Turnquist (Austin, Texas) is tied for 19th at six-over-par 150 after consecutive rounds of 75. He is tied with sophomore Jeremy Alcorn (Brownwood, Texas) who shot an opening round of one-under-par 71 in his first round, which included four birdies. Freshman Brian Meck (Austin, Texas) is tied for 38th after rounds of 78 and 75. Sophomore Jeremy Frye (Palestine, Texas) is tied for 59th at 158 (82-76), while sophomore Chase Thomas (Dallas, Texas) is alone in 82nd place. The tournament was cut short due to darkness and will conclude the second round at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday morning. Following play then will be the third and final round with a 8:45 a.m. shotgun start.
