Baylor Men's Golfers Place Third At Rice Intercollegiate
Feb. 14, 2001 KATY, Texas - The Baylor men's golf team shot a 292 in the final round to finish third at the Rice Intercollegiate at Meadowbrook Farms Golf Course Tuesday. Senior Jimmy Walker (72-71-75=218) and freshman Will Doughtie (72-72-74=218) finished the tournament tied for seventh place individually to lead the Bears. Fellow freshman Jon Antunes (74-69-76=219) finished his first tournament as a Bear tied for 10th place. Sophomore Ash Serur (75-74-71=220) used a 1-under par final round to finish tied for 13th. Senior Worth Williams (76-76-74=226) finished the tournament tied for 26th, and senior Brandon Sanders (78-74-77=229) finished tied for 36th. Freshman Adam Meyer (76-82-72=230) bounced back to shoot an even-par final round to finish tied for 39th. The third-place finish marked the 27th top-five finish for the Bears under Head Coach Tim Hobby.
The Baylor men's golf team will return to action February 19-20, 2001, when it plays in the Southwest Texas State Invitational in Victoria, Texas.
