BABSON PARK, Mass. - The MacConnell Division recently announced its postseason awards, and for the second straight season, Babson College earned the league's Sportsmanship Award.

"I'm extremely proud of our team," said head coach Joe Harty. "A big part of this award is showing the willingness to help out. With no event organizers at our meets, tasks such as setting up and taking down protective netting, gatekeeping, and course maintenance fall on the skiers and coaches. Our athletes not only carry themselves well in competition, but they also make an effort to assist with these tasks in order to make the event more productive and pleasurable for everyone involved."

This marked the second consecutive season in which Babson has claimed the award, which is voted on by both coaches and athletes from around the league. After losing four of its top skiers to graduation a year ago, the Beavers finished sixth out of nine teams this winter, just missing their fifth straight bid to the ECSC Regional Championships.

Members of this year's alpine ski team were sophomore Kevin Fusick (North Granby, Conn.), first-year David Hettena (San Francisco, Calif.), first-year Chris Jacobs (Rochester, N.Y.), first-year Connor Lemenze (Stratton Mountain, Vt.), first-year Antonio Lopez (East Brunswick, N.J.), sophomore John Roche (Hingham, Mass.), and senior DT Rowe (East Setauket, N.Y.) on the men's side, and first-year Tahira Adatia (Tacoma, Wash.), junior Jess Cohen (Pittsford, N.Y.), and senior Polly Collinson (Farmington, Maine) on the women's side.
