Erin Gray Selected To The SEC Good Works Team
May 4, 2006 AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn senior Erin Gray has been named to the Southeastern Conference Women's Tennis Good Works Team, as announced by the conference office on Thursday. A native of Mobile, Ala., Gray served as co-captain on this year's squad and was one of two seniors on the team. Gray was one of the 10 individuals, who were named to the Good Works Team, which recognizes student-athletes from each sport who give back to their community in superior service efforts. A three-year letterwinner, Gray has been an active member in the community by participating in numerous community service projects in and around the Auburn community. Gray helped coordinate and organize the Tigers' trip to the Children's Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., on Feb. 3. During the trip, Gray and the Tigers visited with patients at the hospital for four hours and presented the patients with stuffed Tigers. Gray has also been active in the community by reading to local elementary school children. Earlier this week, Gray was honored at the team's banquet as the Most Improved Player during the 2005-06 season. Gray entered the 2005-06 season with a combined six victories in singles play. This season, she easily surpassed her win total from her first three years at Auburn by collecting nine wins.
