Ashley Bentley begins her first year as assistant coach for the Auburn women's tennis team. Bentley will be involved in all aspects of coaching and recruiting for the Tigers.

A graduate of the University of Alabama, Bentley was a member of the Tide's women's tennis team from 2002-2006. In that time she was a three-time NCAA participant, SEC Scholar-Athlete of the year (2003-2004, 2005-2006), she earned first team All SEC singles and doubles (2005-2006) and was a four year member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Bentley was Alabama's team captain from 2003-2005. She was named most valuable player three years in a row (2004-2005, 2005-2006, Co MVP 2003-2004). She is a member of Bama's winningest doubles duo and second on Bama's all-time singles wins list. Bentley was the recipient of the Paul W. Bryant Student athlete award in 2006, given to UA's top male and female student-athletes. She was also awarded in 2006 the Woodrow Alvin Davis Family Student-Athlete Award, given for excellence in arts and sciences.

A native of Montgomery, Ala., Bentley graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Spanish and a minor in Biology. She is the daughter of Mike and Rhonda Bentley, and she has one sister, Kristin.
