May 31, 2007

AUBURN - Head coach Tina Deese announced Wednesday that the Auburn softball team has signed Centreville, Va., native Aurora Salter to a National Letter Of Intent for the 2008 season.

Salter is a corner infielder and catcher at Lee High School. She has been named as a First-Team All-District member the past two seasons and was named First-Team All-District her junior season after earning second team honors in 2005.

"Aurora is going to be a nice addition for us," Deese said. "She is solid defensively and her versatility should help us right away."

Salter is the seventh player to sign an NLI with Auburn for the 2008 season. She joins pitchers Lauren Schmalz (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) and Angel Bunner (Fairless Hills, Pa.), infielders Cassie Trosclair (Harvey, La.), Megan Mitchell (Huntsville, Ala.) and Kyndall White (Pinson, Ala.) and outfielder Katie Colton (Yucaipa, Calif.).
