Florida Notes
Melissa Zick's fourth-inning home run extended her school-record hit streak to 16 games. Zick has hit nine home runs during that stretch and has 24 hits.
Stacey Nelson's victory marked the first of her career against Tennessee. She has now thrown seven career games against the Lady Vols, starting three.
The win was Florida's second win this season against Tennessee. The first came March 10 in a 4-0 shutout at Tennessee.
The win improved Florida's record to 11-19 all-time in the SEC Tournament.
The win was also just the second in the SEC Tournament for Florida's current senior class. The first came Thursday night, 3-0, over Mississippi State.
The Gators advanced to their first SEC Tournament Championship Game since 1997, when they lost to South Carolina, 6-0, in Columbus, Ga.
Florida will make its first appearance in the SEC Tournament championship game since 1997.
Tennessee Notes
The shutout was just the second this season suffered by the Lady Vols.
Tennessee was also shut out, 4-0, on March 10 against Florida in Knoxville.
The loss drops Tennessee to 14-13 all-time in the SEC Tournament.
