Auburn Soccer Releases 2007 Schedule
April 10, 2007 AUBURN, Ala. - Coming off of the fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last six seasons, the defending SEC West Champion Auburn soccer team will once again play a very challenging non-conference schedule in preparation for the always tough SEC slate. A trip to Hawai`i for a tournament to open the season and one to national semifinalist Florida State in the middle of September highlight what promises to be a very exciting preseason schedule for head coach Karen Hoppa's ninth season at the helm of Auburn's program. Auburn will travel to Hawai`i to face Kansas in the season opener on Saturday, Sept. 1 before playing the host Rainbow Wahine on Monday, Sept. 3 in what will be the second meeting between Auburn and both schools. Auburn will also play Troy on Sept. 7, Pittsburgh on Sept. 9 and Louisiana-Lafayette on Sept. 23 in home contests prior to the start of conference play while also traveling to Florida State on Sept. 15 and Samford on Sept. 21. Collectively, Auburn's non-conference opponents put together a .540 winning percentage during the 2006 season, won a regular-season conference championship (Samford) and advanced to the College Cup (Florida State). Auburn's home conference season starts on Sept. 28 when Kentucky heads to Auburn and also includes Vanderbilt (Sept. 30), LSU (Oct. 12), Arkansas (Oct. 14) and Georgia (Oct. 25). The road takes Auburn to Ole Miss (Oct. 5), Mississippi State (Oct. 7), Florida (Oct. 19), South Carolina (Oct. 21), Tennessee (Oct. 28) and Alabama (Nov. 2). Auburn will play two exhibition games in preparation for the season, hosting Memphis on Sunday, Aug. 19 at 7pm at the Auburn Soccer Complex before traveling to Jacksonville State on the following Saturday. 2007 Auburn Soccer Schedule
