Auburn, Ala. - The No. 29 Auburn men's tennis team earned its eighth consecutive NCAA Team Tournament berth and is set to face No. 33 Georgia State in the first round. The Tigers and Panthers meet on May 11 at 1 p.m. ET at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.

"We are glad to have the opportunity to continue our season at the NCAA Tournament," head coach Eric Shore said. "We meet a team that we haven't faced since 1997 and are excited to return to action next Friday."

Auburn holds the all-time series advantage over Georgia State, 9-0, and is 3-0 under Shore. Auburn has never played the Panthers in the post-season. The winner of the Auburn match will face the winner of top-seeded Georgia versus Fairleigh Dickinson.

Auburn, ranked 29th in the latest Fila Collegiate Rankings, finished the season 14-9 overall and 6-5 in SEC play. The Tigers have faced nine opponents this spring currently ranked in the top 25, including No. 1 Georgia.

The Panthers have won 12 of their last 13 matches including the Colonial Athletic Association Championship. Georgia State boasts a 19-4 record and is ranked 33rd. It will be the first trip for Georgia State to the NCAA Tournament since 2002.

Shore has now led the Tigers to the tournament in 13 of the past 14 seasons, advancing out of the first round eight times. Auburn's deepest run in the tournament has been to the quarterfinals, last accomplished in 2002 when Auburn knocked off East Tennessee State, Mississippi State and Washington before falling to No. 4 UCLA.

Last season in Oxford, Miss., Auburn was sent home after the first round after losing to Florida State, 4-2. Auburn's singles lineup will include five student-athletes who have experience in the NCAA Tournament.
