Tigers Conclude Regular Season Against Alabama on Saturday at 1 p.m.
April 11, 2007 Auburn, Ala. - The 35th-ranked Auburn men's tennis team will conclude regular season play this weekend versus No. 15 Alabama on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Tigers will finish their match against No. 17 Florida that was halted due to rain on April 1 on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT. Both matches will be played at the Auburn Intramural Courts. Auburn was down 2-1, before the match against the Gators was called. The Tigers were ahead of Florida in the remaining three matches. Doubles matches were not played. Before Saturday's match, seniors Alex Schweizer and Robbert Lathouwers will be recognized; both have played for Auburn since 2004, spending their entire college careers on the Plains. The Tigers now sit 12-7, 5-4 in SEC play. The team goes in to Saturday's match against the No.15 Crimson Tide at a slight disadvantage with a series record of 30-37. Alabama won last year, 4-2, in a close match that has left the Tigers eager for redemption. Auburn is coming off a weekend of triumph on the road, beating Arkansas, 5-2, and upsetting then No. 13 LSU, 4-3. Alabama is 18-6 overall and 6-4 in SEC play after losing to LSU, 5-2, but making their comeback against Arkansas, 5-2. The Crimson Tide hosted Samford and UAB on Thursday and defeated both teams.
