Jay Moseley Named To SEC Good Works Team
April 24, 2006 AUBURN - Auburn sophomore Jay Moseley has been named to the SEC Men's Golf Good Works Team, the league office announced Monday.
A Business Administration major, Moseley is one of 12 players chosen representing each SEC institution. He is one of only two sophomores to be honored by the conference.
The Bainbridge, Ga., native has volunteered with the Beat Bama Food Drive and Toys for Tots Drive as well as Auburn's Junior Golf Camp. He visited hurricane victims from local shelters and has been a reader at several local elementary schools and visited children after school day care, through Impact.
Moseley served on the Academic Standard Subcommittee to the CIA last spring, and is currently serving on the Equity, Welfare, and Sportsmanship Subcommittee to the CIA. He was also named to the 2005 SEC Good Works Team and elected chair for the SAAC.
Moseley has a 74.03 stroke average and six sub-par rounds this season. He finished second at the John Burns Intercollegiate in February, setting an Auburn record for the lowest 54-hole score at 14-under 202. Last weekend at the SEC Championship, Moseley finished tied for 23rd at 6-over 216.
The SEC sponsors Good Works Teams for all 20 league sports, highlighting a student athlete from each school who gives back to their community.
