LEXINGTON, Ky. - The undefeated University of Dayton volleyball team continued its climb through the ranks on Monday as it moved up two spots to No. 12 in the latest CSTV/AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll.
Dayton is the only team in the nation to gain more votes in each week of the poll this season after picking up a school-record 749 on Monday. UD is off to its best start in school history and is in the midst of its longest winning streak ever at 21-0. The only other undefeated team in NCAA Division I is defending national champion Nebraska (16-0) which was a unanimous selection at the top spot in this weeks poll.
Dayton has recorded 3-0 sweeps in 10 of their last 12 matches and 14 times in 21 matches overall this season including seven straight in conference play. UD has also rebounded from a 1-2 deficit on four occasions this season to win in five games.
Dayton heads to Cincinnati on Friday to take on Xavier in a showdown for first place in the A-10 West Division. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET and can be followed with Gametracker at www.DaytonFlyers.com.
