PHILADELPHIA, PA – For the second year in a row, Colleen McCroskey of Duquesne has been named Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete of the Year in women's rowing. Voting was conducted among the Conference's sports information directors. To be eligible, a student-athlete for have a minimum 3.0 grade point average and be an important part of the team.
McCroskey helped lead the Dukes' Lightweight 8 boat to a second place finish at the 2005 Atlantic 10 Championship, where Duquesne finished seventh as a team. In addition, she was a member of the Lightweight 4 which took first at the Fall Head of the Speakmon. Her Lightweight 8 boat placed second at the Occoquan Chase and placed fourth at the 2004 Head of the Ohio.
In the classroom, the senior from Solon, OH, has a 4.00 grade point average as an occupational therapy major. She has been on the Dean's List each semester, as well as the Duquesne Director of Athletics and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Rolls. She is a volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul Society, as well as being a Whales Tail volunteer.
Along with McCroskey, the women's rowing Academic All-Conference team consists of teammate Katie McGravey; George Washington's Kate Austin, Liz Gordon, and Mary Kate Martelon; Anson Brennan, Elizabeth Goins, and Catherine Lesko of Dayton; Katie Parry of Saint Joseph's; and Jennifer Roussil of Fordham.
