Women's Indoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Track Performer
Shareese Woods - Charlotte
Senior, Fort Lee, VA/Prince George HS
Woods garnered Most Outstanding Track Performer honors at the 2007 A-10 Championship on Feb. 17 after winning 200m and 400m dashes with times of 24.17 and 54.42, respectively...established meet records in both events...named the Most Outstanding Performer for the second consecutive year...Charlotte claimed its second straight A-10 crown.
Women's Indoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Field Performer
Kerstin Greene - Fordham
Senior, Frankfurt, Germany/Carl Von Weinberg HS
Greene placed first in the triple jump on Feb. 17 at the 2007 A-10 Championship with a school and meet record mark of 40-9...placed second in both the long jump (18-11 3/4) and high jump (5-7) events...her mark in the long jump was tops in program history...added a fourth-place showing in the 55m hurdles in a school-record time of 8.32...earned Most Outstanding Field Performer honors at the Championship...Fordham placed seventh in the 12-team field.
Women's Indoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Rookie
Amy Van Alstine - Richmond
Freshman, Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park HS
Van Alstine placed second in the mile (4:54.44) and third in the 3,000m (10:04.36) on Feb. 17 at the 2007 A-10 Championship...earned Most Outstanding Rookie honors...Richmond finished second out of 12 teams.
Men's Indoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Track Performer
Sean Quigley - La Salle
Senior, Braintree, MA/Archbishop Williams HS
Competing at the 2007 A-10 Championship on Feb. 17, Quigley captured gold in the mile (4:09.30) and 3,000m run (8:27.12) and ran a leg of the 4x800m relay which placed second (7:49.76)...set a meet record in the mile and defended his title in the 3,000m...named the Most Outstanding Track Performer at the Championship...La Salle finished second in the 10-team field.

Men's Indoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Field Performer
Yudehwheh Gbaa - Rhode Island
Junior, Providence, RI/Hope HS
Gbaa earned Most Outstanding Field Performer honors at the 2007 A-10 Championship on Feb. 17 after winning the triple jump with a mark of 50-2 3/4...placed third in both the long jump (22-11) and 55m hurdles (7.64)...Rhode Island won its fifth Conference title in the last seven years.
Men's Indoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Rookie
Joshua Louis - Temple
Sophomore, Spring Valley, NY/Ramapo HS
Competing in his first season of indoor competition, Louis claimed the high jump on Feb. 17 at the 2007 A-10 Championship with a mark of 6-7...placed ninth in the 55m hurdles (7.92)...named the Most Outstanding Rookie of the Championship...Temple finished eighth out of 10 teams.

Baseball Players of the Week
John Rickards - La Salle
Junior, 2B, 6-1, 190 lbs., Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West HS
Rickards collected seven hits in 12 at-bats (.583) and drove in seven runs over four games (Feb. 16-18)...had three multi-hit games and scored three runs...cracked two homers and a pair of doubles...was hit by a pitch four times...slugged first-inning homeruns in La Salle's 4-2 and 11-5 wins over Ball State on Feb. 17.
Kris Rochelle - Charlotte
Senior, C, 6-2, 210 lbs., Richmond, VA/Mills E. Godwin HS
Rochelle went 5-for-7 with three runs scored and seven RBI in a pair of wins...was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI on Feb. 15 in Charlotte's 11-0 victory over Virginia Tech...had three hits, including a three-run homer, and knocked in six in the 49ers' 24-0 win versus Radford on Feb. 18...is 9-for-20 with a team-high nine RBI on the season.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Adam Mills - Charlotte
Senior, RHP, 6-0, 189 lbs., Big Pool, MD/Clear Spring HS
Mills allowed just one hit over seven innings while fanning a career-high 14 in Charlotte's 24-0 win over Radford on Feb. 18...issued just one walk...has 32 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched this season.
Baseball Rookie of the Week
John Malloy - La Salle
Freshman, CF, 5-10, 170 lbs., Fairless Hills, PA/Conwell-Egan HS
Malloy collected at least one hit in all four of La Salle's contests (Feb. 16-18) and scored three runs...went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored on Feb. 18 in the Explorers' 16-8 loss at Florida Atlantic...notched his first career RBI on Feb. 17 in La Salle's 11-5 win over Ball State.
Softball Player of the Week
Courtney Norene - Temple
Sophomore, C/Ut., Wheatland, CA/Wheatland HS
Norene batted a team-best .636 over four games in the Worth Wildcat Tournament in Tucson, AZ...homered three times and drove in six runs in a wild 12-11 loss to Middle Tennessee State (2/16) in Temple's first game...in game two, Norene provided the Owls' lone offensive spark with a solo homerun, her fourth of the day, in a 9-1 loss to defending national champion Arizona (2/16)...hit safely in all four games, including two multi-hit contests... with the four homeruns, Norene already matches her long-ball output from 2006, as well as moves herself into a four-way tie for eighth all-time on Temple's homerun list with eight.
Softball Pitcher of the Week
Brandice Balschmiter - Massachusetts
Sophomore, Pitcher, Newark, NY/Newark HS
Balschmiter was 1-1 with a 0.37 ERA as UMass went 2-2-1 at the Campbell/Cartier Classic San Diego, Calif., against four nationally-ranked teams (2/9-11)...allowed just one earned run (four total) on 15 hits and four walks in 19.0 innings pitched... had 15 strikeouts and held opponents to a .211 batting...threw a four-hit shutout with six strikeouts in the Minutewomen's 1-0 upset win over No. 10/10 California (2/10)...took the loss vs. No. 6/6 Oregon State despite allowing just one earned run.
Softball Rookie of the Week
Erin Fisher - Fordham
Freshman, INF/OF, Woodinville, WA/Woodinville HS
Had an outstanding start to her Fordham career at the Cox Communications Classic in Florida (2/16-18)...hit .438 (7-for-16) with five runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, and eight RBI... drove in the lone run against 24th NC State (2/17)... followed with three hits, three RBI, and a home run against 19th ranked Florida (2/18)...was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI against Marshall (2/18).
Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Jo Becker - Saint Louis
Sophomore, Frankfurt, Germany/Ziehen School
Went 3-0 at fifth singles and 2-1 at second doubles this past week...captured singles wins over Wright State (6-1, 6-1), Dayton (6-2, 6-3), and Murray State (6-1, 6-0)...lost only eight games in three matches...also earned doubles wins against Wright State (8-0) and Dayton (8-0)...her only loss of the week was an 8-7 doubles defeat to Murray State.
Women's Tennis Rookies of the Week
Jill Durco - Xavier
Freshman, Cincinnati, OH/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy
Recorded a 2-0 mark at third singles and second doubles...picked up singles wins against Wisconsin-Milwaukee (6-1, 6-1) and Wisconsin-Green Bay (6-4, 6-3)...also won 8-5 (UWM) and 8-3 (UWGB) in doubles action.
Radka Ferancova - Temple
Freshman, Lucenec, Slovakia
Earned second singles wins against Lehigh (6-0, 6-0) and NJIT (6-0, 6-0)...at second doubles, she teamed to take an 8-0 decision from Lehigh and an 8-1 win against NJIT.
Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Nathan Spunda - Temple
Sophomore, Venlo, The Netherlands
Posted a pair of first singles wins against Atlantic 10 opponents this past week...earned a 6-2, 2-6 (10-4) win against Richmond's Chris Louis on Feb. 17...followed that with a 6-1, 6-4 win against Henrick Almstrom of Rhode Island on Feb. 19.
Men's Tennis Rookies of the Week
Pavlos Stephanides - Temple
Freshman, Nea Makri, Greece/Bellport (NY) HS
In his only competition of the week, he won both his matches against Rhode Island on Feb.19...downed Adam Gart at fourth singles, 3-6, 6-3 (6-1) after picking up a 7-6 third doubles win against the Rams...this is his second Rookie of the Week award.
J.T. Torbeck - Xavier
Freshman, Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier HS
Earns his second Rookie of the Week award in as many weeks...captured a 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5), 6-2 fourth singles win against George Washington's Mark Doumba on Feb. 16...also won, 9-7, at second doubles.
