ASU Volleyball Loses Against Southern

Sept. 11, 2006

Final Stats

Montgomery, Ala. - The Alabama State University volleyball team fell to the Southern University Lady Jaguars in the Lady Hornets'. The Lady Hornets lost all three games: 23-30, 23-30 and 18-30.

Montgomery native Jessica Holt led ASU (0-3) with 12 kills, with returning player Areion Trinity adding eight kills to the Hornets' losing effort. In the end, freshmen Candace Southall and Ena Payne of the Lady Jaguars proved to be too much for Bama State. Southall recorded 14 kills and five digs, and Payne brought out 12 kills and five digs to keep Southern ahead.

The Lady Hornets look to redeem themselves on September 15 and 16 as Bama State hosts the ASU Invitational.
