ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Saint Louis (11-11, 7-6 Conference USA) defeated UAB (10-15, 2-11 C-USA) 30-18, 34-32, 25-30, 23-30, 15-9 in Conference USA volleyball action this evening in Saint Louis.

UAB was led by sophomore outside hitter Martina Shields who had 21 kills, a .317 hitting percentage and nine digs. Freshman setter Jessica Liptak posted 56 assists, six kills, a .455 hitting percentage and seven digs for UAB. Junior middle blocker Allison Magner and junior right side hitter Kristi Lee each had double-doubles for the Blazers. Magner had 12 kills and 15 digs and Lee added 15 kills and 19 digs.

Junior middle hitter Colleen Hunter led Saint Louis with 26 kills, 12 digs and six total blocks. Junior setter Beth Middendorf added 52 assists for the Billikens.

UAB next travels to Memphis for a C-USA matchup with the Tigers tomorrow at 7 p.m.
