Women's Soccer Drops Season Opener At Creighton

OMAHA, Neb. - Krystie Campa collected Creighton's both goals to defeat the UAB women's soccer team 2-1 here Friday night in both team's season opener. Campa notched both of her goals in the opening half as she drilled a shot from 10-yards out on the left side at the 17:20 mark and then added another goal 18 minutes later that went in off the right post. Freshman Tara Kidwell (Leesburg, Va.) collected the Blazers' lone goal at the 70:04 mark from 10 yards straight away. Junior Adrienne Suffridge (Columbia, S.C.), who notched a team-high five shots in the match, notched the assist. UAB keeper Lisa Nowoslawski (Melbourne, Fla.) recorded seven saves as the Blazers were outshot in the game 15-13. The Blazers complete their two-match road swing Sunday as they take on No. 5-ranked Nebraska in a 7 p.m. tilt.
