Women's Golf 10th After First Round of LSU Tourney

Brooke Mangan is in 11th place after a two-over par 74 and the Blazers are in 10th place after the first round of the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic at The University Club in Baton Rouge, La.

The Blazers shot a 316, two shots behind Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Auburn University leads the tournament with a 290, seven shots ahead of the host LSU.

Mangan is one of five players at 74, one shot behind a group of five, tied for sixth place with a 73. Auburn's Celeste Troche and LSU's Meredith are tied for the lead after shooting one-under par 71.

UAB's Christina Guschana shot a 79 and is in 39th position. Other scores for the Blazers are Jenni Elmore, 81, Heather Lourie 82 and Marika Pluta 84.

Fellow Conference USA foe Tulane is in seventh place at 307. Of the top ten teams seven are out of the Southeastern Conference. Birmingham-Southern is four shots behind the Blazers at 320.

The tournament continues Saturday.
