BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Senior Joe Klosterman, a defender on the UAB men's soccer team, has been named this week's UAB Scholar-Athlete of the Week. A three-time member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll, Klosterman is three appearances away from reaching the top-10 list of all-time games played at UAB.

Klosterman has started in all 15 games for UAB this season and has played a key role in helping the Blazers hold a 1.02 goals against average.

For his career, the St. Louis, Mo. native has recorded five assists, while starting in every game he has played in.

This semester, Klosterman is taking on 21 credit hours in the classroom in addition to his commitments with the UAB men's soccer program. He is a history major at UAB.

The Blazers are 6-9-1 (1-5-0 C-USA) on the year and will host Memphis at 2:00 p.m. at West Campus Field on Saturday.
