Heather King is entering her second season as an assistant coach for the Alaska Nanooks Swim team. King joined the Nanooks after a two-year stint as the head coach at Lathrop High School, where she served as an assistant to Lemley in the previous four seasons, before Lemley resigned to take his position at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. In her time at Lathrop, King coached two of Alaska's current swimmers, high-school All-American Zoe Kjera, and State Finalist Jamie Bratten. King swam for California State University Fresno and then returned to Fairbanks in 2002 to pursue a degree in Elementary Education at the UAF.
