KALAMAZOO, Mich.-- Troy Niblock threw a touchdown pass and ran for two more as the Adrian College football team defeated Kalamazoo College, 45-7. Niblock got the Bulldogs off to a quick start, capping off an eight play, 55 yard drive with a nine yard touchdown run. Less than a minute later, Mike McGee hit Patrick Reagan for a 16 yard touchdown pass to give the Bulldogs the 14-0 lead with 10:27 still to play in the first quarter. The Bulldogs would add to their lead again in the first quarter when McGee would connect with Joseph Beehler for the 11 yard touchdown pass. Kalamazoo responded with nine play, 63 yard drive that ended in a 10 yard touchdown pass from Jordan Tillman to Mike Benson for the Hornets' only score of the game, which came at 13:28 in the second quarter. Adrian would put 10 more points on the scoreboard before halftime with a Justin Warner field goal from 25 yards out and a Troy Niblock rushing touchdown, giving the visiting Bulldogs the 31-7 advantage midway through the game. In the third quarter, the Bulldogs grabbed the 38-7 lead when Brandon Mohney snagged an interception and returned it 51 yards for a touchdown. The last AC scoring drive of the game saw the Bulldogs go 80 yards in 10 plays with Troy Niblock tossing the 20 yard touchdown pass to Tim Bruce, leaving 1:46 minutes on the clock in the third period. With the win, the Bulldogs move to 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. Their next game is Saturday, October 6 when they host the Olivet College Comets at 7 p.m. for Homecoming. |
