ALMA, Mich.--The Adrian College baseball team split with the Alma College Scots in a Friday afternoon doubleheader at Klenk Park in Alma. The Bulldog offense was stymied in game one, falling 1-7, before taking game two, 11-1. Senior Paul Walters earned a complete-game win in game two, allowing just two hits and one earned run, while striking out five and walking three. Bobby Rickstad and Todd Meyers each drove in three runs in game two. Rickstad hit his second home run of the season, a three-run shot to left field in the top of the first inning. Meyers was 2-for-4 with a double in the fifth inning that plated one. Mark Roeder was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run, while Alexander Younce went 2-for-4 with two RBI on fourth inning single to left field. In game one, Mike Hackett led the Adrian offense with a 2-for-3 showing while Meyers drove in the only Bulldog run on a suicide squeeze play in the third. The Bulldogs are now 13-5 in the MIAA and tied for first place with Hope College. Adrian will host Alma for the final two games of their season series on Sunday with first pitch at 1 p.m |
