Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi hung tough with a Dowling team that has lost just three games this season, but could not pull out a win. The Panthers kept it close but could not piece take advantage of some Dowling miscues and fell 3-0 to the Golden Lions. With the loss Adelphi drops to 5-12 overall and 2-5 in NYCAC play, while Dowling improves to 23-3 overall and 8-1 in the NYCAC. Adelphi kept the first game close, putting together some nice rallies but Dowling took the first game 30-24. The second game was played much like the first and again Adelphi fell 30-20. In the third game the Panthers seemed to run out of gas and Dowling took advantage, taking the third game 30-14. Rachael Cornick collected her fourth double-double of the season in the loss. The Panthers return to action Friday, October 24th when they travel to East Stroudsburg University for a 7:30 pm non-conference match-up.
