Nyack, N.Y. - The Adelphi University volleyball team picked up its first win of the season with a 30-17, 30-26, 30-24 win over Nyack College last night. Freshman Rachael Cornick led the Panthers with seven kills and a career-best 17 digs.

Sophomore Meaghan Joyce had five kills and four digs. Junior Sharon Ribera and freshman Brittany Addeo each chipped in 10 assists.

With the win, Adelphi improves to 1-4 on the season. The Panthers will look to extend that streak as they return to conference action this Thursday, traveling to Bridgeport. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
