Manhattan, N.Y. - For the second time in as many weeks Adelphi sophomore Claudia Nunez (Aventura, FL) has been named New York Collegiate Athletic Conference (NYCAC) Player of The Week.

Nunez continued her strong conference play, picking up two more wins last week to stay undefeated in the NYCAC at number one singles. In her wins over both St. Thomas Aquinas and Queens Nunez dropped just four sets.

Nunez also competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Regional over the weekend as the ninth seed in the "A" singles draw. By virtue of her seeding Nunez received a first round bye. Nunez dispatched her next two opponents to advance to the quarterfinals, where she fell to the top ranked player in the bracket.

The Panthers return to action on Tuesday, September 27 when they travel to West Haven, Connecticut to take on New Haven at 3:30 pm.
