Hempstead Lake State Park - Women's tennis gained their first win of the season against conference rivals, Dowling College. Rallying from a 2-1 deficit in doubles matches, the Panthers took four out of six singles matches to win 5-4 over the Golden Lions. Alda Ribeiro (Del Ray Beach, FL) led off the singles rally with a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Christina Hoffman. Dowling saw victory in the next two matches against, but were unable to hold off the efforts of Amanda Aniboli (West Islip, NY), Jamie Sussman (Glastonbury, CT) and Kristina Radeva (Varna, Bulgaria) as they won their respected matches. The Panthers look to continue their success at home next Monday, September 17th, against the Concordia Clippers. |
