Manhattan, N.Y. - Claudette Frysztacki (Wantagh, N.Y.), a senior speech pathology major at Adelphi University, has been named the 2005 NYCAC Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete, as voted by the league's coaches. Frysztacki recorded a perfect 6-0 mark at No. 3 singles this fall.

Frysztacki, who sports a 3.782 grade point average, reached the finals of the NYCAC Women's Tennis Flight Championships at both No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles in November.

"Excelling in academics and in athletics is characteristic of many NYCAC Student-Athletes," said Ed Manetta, NYCAC Commissioner. "Frysztacki is an excellent example, demonstrating dedication in both the classroom and on the tennis court, and is a worthy recipient of the Scholar-Athlete Award."
