Brookville, NY - Adelphi Women's Tennis closed their season beating the C.W. Post Pioneers, 6-3. Head Coach Ed Canner's Panthers end the season at 5-1 in the ECC and 5-5 overall. The team of Alda Ribeiro (Del Ray Beach, FL) and Megan Margino (Lake Grove, N.Y.) led the sweep in doubles matches with an 8-2 win at their number one spot. Their win streak as a pair now stands at four. Ribeiro extended her win streak to six in the number one singles spot as she won 6-0, 6-0 over Nicole Occipinti. She now stands at 7-1 for the season. Daniella Sanderson (Valsayn, Trinidad and Tobago) closed the match out with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Gena Bales. This marks the final regular season match for the Panthers. Adelphi Women's Tennis will compete next in the East Coast Conference Championship Tournament October 10 - 11 at a time and venue to be determined. |
