Shippensburg, PA - The Adelphi women's tennis team competed at the ITA Tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Shippensburg University. The Panthers had three, round of 32 appearances, while Claudia Nunez advanced to the flight A quarter finals. Nunez defeated Jessica Brockway of IUP 6-2, 6-2 in the round of 32, and she kept the momentum going in the round of 16 with a 6-3, 6-1 routing of Ashley Green of SRU. On Sunday against Lina Paulilionyte of Shippensburg Nunez battled hard, but fell short with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 loss. Leigh Fennessey downed Kristin Jack of Clarion 10-7 before falling in the round of 32 while teammate Claudette Frysztack also rolled into the round of 32 by defeating Franklin Pierce's Nicole Adams 10-4. The Panthers are back in action this weekend when they host Bryant College, Sunday at 11a.m. |
