Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - The Adelphi University softball team downed Mercy College, 13-0 and 8-0 in a conference doubleheader yesterday afternoon. The Panthers improve to 17-14-1 on the season and 13-2-1 in the NYCAC. The Lady Flyers drop to 0-17 overall and in the NYCAC.

Junior Theresa Kotulak and sophomore Beth Fletcher each recorded three-run homers in game one. Junior Ivy Klein was 3-3 with two runs. Sophomore Carla Buonviaggio pitched the first three innings before junior Katie Terris came in for relief in the shutout.

Adelphi had 13 runs on 15 hits and one error. Mercy had no runs on two hits and four errors.

In game two, freshman Sheila Feldman recorded the win on the mound. Terris closed the game and together they combined for just two hits. Junior Tara Rice was 3-3 with two RBI.

The Panthers had eight runs on seven hits and no errors. The Lady Flyers had no runs on three hits and four errors.

The Panthers return to action today, hosting Molloy College at 3:30 p.m.
