Turlock, CA - The Adelphi University softball team suffered its fourth straight loss, dropping its doubleheader at CSU-Stanislaus, 7-0, 2-1, on Wednesday afternoon. The Panthers fall to 1-5 while the Warriors improve to 9-17.

Game One
Adelphi struggled in game one, unable to advance a runner past second base throughout the contest. In contrast, CSU jumped out to a 3-0 lead through the third inning and never looked back. The Warriors capitlized on six stolen bases in the game, helping to push their lead to 7-0.

Sophomore Carla Buonviaggio (0-2) faced 19 batters in 4.1 innings. Freshman Samantha Tilton pitched the final 1.2 innings, with no hits in five at-bats.

Adelphi had no runs on two hits and three errors. CSU had seven runs on seven hits with no errors.

Game Two
After a scoreless first inning, CSU picked up two runs in the bottom of the third inning to take an early lead. Freshman Dely Francisco helped keep Adelphi in the game, going 2-for-2 along with a stolen base. The Panthers recorded their only run in the top of the seventh with junior Amy Delmore hitting a double. Junior Christina Semey pinch hit to advance Delmore to third and she scored on an error by the first baseman. With two runners on Adelphi had a chance to win but where held scoreless by the Warriors pitcher.

Adelphi had one run on four hits with two errors. CSU had two runs on three hits with one error.

Sophomore Sheila Feldman (1-1) pitched the three-hitter, striking out four.

Adelphi is back in action on Friday, March 17, traveling to San Francisco State for a 1:00 p.m. match-up.
