East Stroudsberg, PA - The Adelphi University women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season by defeating East Stroudsberg University, 3-0, on Sunday morning. Junior Josephine Coiro collected two goals and senior Monica Miller had one goal. The Panthers as they improve to 1-1-1.

After a scoreless game for almost the entire first half, Miller found the net at 44:26 for a 1-0 mark. ESU (1-2) dropped farther behind in the second half as Coiro scored on a header assisted by senior Lena Dunning in the 78th minute. Coiro followed up with her second goal in the 80th minute for the 3-0 victory.

The Warriors did outshoot Adelphi, 16-14, but could not put a shot into the goal. Senior Andrea Fasano collected 12 stops for the Panthers, while Lindsey Vandergrift stopped seven Adelphi shots in goal.

Adelphi returns to action next Sunday, traveling to Shippensburg University at 11:00 a.m.
