June 16, 2005 Garden City, N.Y. - The accolades continue to pour in for senior Katherine Hock as she was named the IWLCA Division II Attacker of the Year at its annual banquet held on June 8. Hock graduates from Adelphi as the school's all-time leading scorer with 272 points and 224 goals. Her 224 goals also places her atop the Division II All-time career standings, surpassing Stonehill's Katie Lambert's 220 goals (2000-03). A four-time All-America, Hock has guided Adelphi (14-2) to consecutive NCAA Final Four appearances and been selected twice to the NCAA All-Tournament Team. She has been ranked in the top 10 in the nation in various scoring categories throughout her career, including third in the nation in points per game (5.53) and second in goals per game (4.6) in 2005. A two-time All-Northeast selection, she was also named a second-team ESPN/CoSida Academic All-District in 2005. Joining Hock as position players of the year for 2005 are goalkeeper Lauren Stone and midfielder Erin Acone of Stonehill College and C.W. Post defender Lindsay Goldman. |
