May 23, 2005 Garden City, N.Y. - Senior attack Katherine Hock (Mineola, N.Y.) makes her fourth straight appearance as an IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-America as announced on Sunday, May 22. National semifinalists Adelphi University was honored with four student-athletes between the two teams, including Hock on the first team. Also earning first-team honors for the second straight year are junior defender Melissa Demasi (Shirley, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder Lauren Lopez (Farmingville, N.Y.). Junior attack Dawn Anselmin (Lynbrook, N.Y.) was named a second-team All-America. Each of these athletes have already earned first-team all-region honors this season, with Hock also being named to the NCAA All-Tournament team. Hock led the Panthers in scoring for the fourth consecutive season and guided the squad to its second straight NCAA appearance. She graduates from Adelphi has the all-time career leader in points (272) and goals (224). She ranked second in the nation in goals per game (4.56) and third in points per game (5.44). Demasi led the Panther defense with a team-high 39 ground balls, helping Adelphi to a second place national ranking in scoring defense by holding its opponents to just 5.56 goals per game. Anselmin led the Panthers with 48 assists, ranking second in the nation with 3.0/game. Lopez had 51 goals and 72 points ranking ninth in the nation in goals/game (3.19) and 12th in scoring (4.5). The Panthers (14-2) made their second straight NCAA appearance, falling to eventual champions, Stonehill College in the first semi-final contest. Adelphi will return all of its starters, with the exception of Hock, for the 2006 season. A total of 32 athletes earned All-American honors for their play during the 2005 season.
