Baseball Hires Gene Steinbach as Assistant Coach

Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University and Head Baseball Coach Dom Scala announced today, June 14, that Gene Steinbach will join the baseball team as an assistant coach. Steinbach spent the past seven years as an assistant coach at Molloy College.

Steinbach graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1979 and then went on to play eight years in the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cleveland Indians minor league systems.

"I have known Gene for the past four years and respect him as an excellent baseball coach who knows the game and works hard," Head Coach Dom Scala said. "He will fit in perfectly at Adelphi and I feel very fortunate that he will be part of our staff."

Steinbach's responsibilities will include working with the pitching staff as well as the catchers.
