Track and Field Competing at New Balance, Army Open and DeShriver Invitational

 
 

 
Adelphi will continue their indoor season at the Army Open

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi track and field team will be competing in three meets over the course of the next two weeks. Two of those meets are schedule changes. This weekend, January 29, the Panthers will take part in the Army Open at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Eight teams are scheduled to run, including Ithaca College, Binghamton University and RPI. The meet will begin at noon and is open to spectators.

The following weekend Adelphi will send two athletes to the Armory to compete in the prestigious New Balance Collegiate Invitational. Freshman Aaron Warner (Queens Village, N.Y.) and Sean Murphy (Lynbrook, N.Y.) will represent Adelphi in the 400 meter dash and 200 meter dash respectively.

Warner will compete on Friday, February 4, the men's 400 meter dash is scheduled for 11:35 am on the Armory track. Murphy will take to the track on Saturday, February 5 at 10:15 am to compete in the 200 meter dash. Warner and Murphy will be competing against athletes from such schools as Arkansas, Duke, Georgia, Stanford and Villanova.

On February 6 the Panthers will travel to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania to take part in the DeShriver Invitational. East Stroudsburg University will host the meet, which starts at 10:00 am.
