WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ¡V Former Demon Deacons earn victories this past weekend. Laura Diaz won the Corning Classic to take her second LPGA victory of her pro career and Jay Sigel won the Farmers Charity Classic, his seventh Senior PGA Tour title.

During her tenure at Wake from 1993-97, Diaz twice earned All-America honors, was the 1995 ACC Championship medalist and led the Deacon squad to their top NCAA Championship finish of third place in 1995 among a few of her accolades.

Sigel made a profound mark during his stint on Wake Forest men¡¦s golf team from 1964-67. He was a two-time All-American and won the individual ACC crown in 1963, leading Wake to the ACC team title. He was inducted into the WFU Sports Hall of Fame in 1984.
