COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Freshman midfielder Caroline Walter (Reilingen, Germany) and sophomore midfielder Keli Smith (Selinsgrove, Pa.) each scored twice, leading seventh-ranked Maryland (10-5, 3-1 ACC) to a 7-3 victory over ninth-ranked Duke (7-6, 0-3 ACC) today.

The Terps scored three goals within a span of 9:34 to take a 3-2 halftime lead. They then reeled off four consecutive goals in the second half to clinch the win.

Sophomore midfielder Carla Tagliente (Cortland, N.Y.), freshman forward Dina Rizzo (Walpole, Mass.) and freshman back Autumn Welsh (Macungie, Pa) each added one goal for Maryland. Senior back Jen Pratt (Greene, N.Y.) and sophomore back Molly Kauffman (West Lawn, Pa.) each had three assists. Duke was led by sophomore forward Jennelle Moore, who scored two unassisted goals.

Maryland's next game is tomorrow at home against No. 18 Boston University at 2 p.m.
