Two Duke University rowers were named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association All-Americas recently. Junior Joanna Hingle, a two-time All-America selection, and All-ACC selection Katie Lakin each received first team honors.
Hingle has earned All-America, All-South Region, All-ACC and National Rowing Scholar Athlete honors in each of the past two seasons. Lakin, a two-time All-ACC selection, was also an All-South Region pick in 2002.
Both rowers competed on the varsity eight which claimed the school's first ever national ranking and the Cal Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic this year. Other season highlights included helping the Duke program to a third consecutive team points title at the Head of the Chattahoochee Regatta and a sixth place finish for the varsity eight in the Grand Final at the Lexus South/Central Sprints.
