Four Duke University rowers were named to All-South Region teams as announced by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association today. Joanna Hingle, an All-America last year, Amelia Booth and All-ACC selection Katie Lakin earned first team honors, while freshman Melissa Buckmiller was a second team pick.
All four rowers competed on the varsity eight which claimed the school's first ever national ranking and the Cal Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic this year. Other season highlights included helping the Duke program to a third consecutive team points title at the Head of the Chattahoochee Regatta and a sixth place finish for the varsity eight in the Grand Final at the Lexus South/Central Sprints.
The All-America first and second teams will be selected by the regional chairpersons from the rowers who have received All-Region first team honors. All-America accolades will be announced at a later date.
