COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland's 2004 recruiting class was recently recognized as one of the best in the nation, according to Intermatwrestle.com. Head coach Pat Santoro's first recruiting class at Maryland received honorable mention recognition from the online source, citing Terp signees Josh Haines, Eli Black and Kyle Harger among the best in their weight class.

Haines, coming from one of the top wrestling programs in the country in Northampton High (Pa.), is ranked as the second-best recruit at the 189 weight class, and the 11th best overall recruit in the nation. Black, who wrestled at Chopticon High (Md.), received honorable mention at his 160-pound weight class. Harger also received honorable metion in the 140-pound weight class after attending Brooks School (Mass.).

Two-time defending national champion Oklahoma State had the top recruiting class in the country, but traditional powers Penn State, Pitt and Michigan State also received honorable mention along with the Terps.
