COLLEGE PARK, Md.-- Sophomores Dan Califf (Orange, Calif.) and Taylor Twellman (St. Louis, Mo.) have both been selected as third-team All-Americans by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The pair led the Terps to a 14-win regular season, the school record for wins in a regular season, and Maryland's sixth-straight NCAA Tournament berth.

Twellman was the Terps' leading scorer this season with 12 goals and nine assists for 33 points. The forward finished his sophomore season tenth on the all-time goals list with 28, sixth in career assists with 17 and seventh on the career points chart with 76. The Missouri native was also named first-team All South-Atlantic, received first team All-ACC recognition, and was named to Soccer America's Team of the Week twice during the regular season. ACC Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 20, Twellman was also selected by the Maryland Athletic Department as the Student-Athlete of the Week for Aug. 30.

Califf, the backbone of the Maryland defense and one of the country's premier defenders this season, was also a first-team All-ACC selection and a first team All South-Atlantic pick. A sophomore, Califf will forgo his final two years of eligibility and has signed a Project 40 Contract with Major League Soccer. His finishes his Terp career with three goals, three assists and nine points.

Senior Jason Cropley (La Canada, Calif.) and sophomore Nick Downing (Redmond, Wash.) were both selected NSCAA second-team All South-Atlantic, while team captain Beckett Hollenbach (Haverford, Pa.) was an honorable mention All South-Atlantic pick. Maryland's five selections on the all-region team are the maximum allowed for any one team.

Cropley leaves Maryland sixth all-time on the career points chart with 76, ninth on the career goals chart with 28, and fifth on the career assists list with 17. The team's second-leading goal scorer this season, Cropley tallied seven goals and seven assists for 21 points. The forward was a second-team All-ACC selection, and a member of Soccer America's Team of the Week after his two-goal effort to defeat Clemson at Riggs Field for the first time since 1988. He was also selected as the ACC Player of the Week that same week.

Downing was another key component in a Maryland defense which was second in the ACC in scoring defense (0.89) and second in shutouts with nine. The Seattle-area native joined Twellman as a preseason candidate for the Hermann Trophy, soccer's top award for collegiate players.

Hollenbach, plagued by injury through most of his sophomore campaign, still started 15 games and added one assist for the Terps this season. The Pennsylvania native was also chosen as the Student-Athlete of the Week by the Maryland Athletic Department for the week of Oct. 25.

Maryland finished its season at 14-6 and took its sixth-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. The team was ranked in the NSCAA's top 10 for 12 out of 13 weeks this season. The Terrapins also received their first-ever No. 1 ranking by Soccer America and held onto the top-spot for two weeks.
