The University of North Carolina women's cross country team was awared an at-large bid to next Monday's NCAA Championships to be held at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind., the NCAA announced Sunday. The Tar Heels, along with Wake Forest, were one of two at-large selections from the Southeast Region, and will join fellow ACC squads Duke and NC State at the national meet.
A total of 31 teams will compete at the meet, including two automatic qualifiers from each of the nine regions and 13 at-large selections. The women's 6K race will begin at 11 a.m. EST on Nov. 22.
