CARSON, Calif. - NC State's Julia Lucas took 13th place in the women's 5,000m at the 2005 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships presented by Visa Thursday night. The sophomore All-American from Charlotte, N.C., posted the second-fastest time by a collegian in the race, 16:14.04.

Andy Smith took ninth place in the men's 3,000m Steeplechase preliminary, qualifying for the final Saturday afternoon at 12:45 (PDT). The senior All-American from Hudson, Ohio finished fifth in his heat with a time of 8:38.47.

Ebony Foster is scheduled to run the women's 100m hurdles Saturday evening at 4:10 (PDT).
