FRIARS VERSUS HUSKIES...Tonight's game is the second meeting of the year and the 51st between the two schools. UConn won at the Providence Civic Center on January 27th, 63-56, to take a 30-20 lead in the all-time series. The Huskies are 22-13 in BIG EAST league games against the Friars. On the road against Connecticut, the Friars are just 7-17, but at the Hartford Civic Center, the Friars own a 5-2 record. The last time that PC played in Hartford, the Friars won 108-102 on January 19, 1991. The last time that UConn beat the Friars in the Hartford Civic Center was January 9, 1988, a 79-72 win. PC has won two in a row at Hartford against UConn.

FRIAR UPDATE...The Friars saw their three-game winning streak snapped on Saturday at Pittsburgh with a 73-72 loss to the Panthers. Sophomore Llewellyn Cole was fouled with one second left and the score 73-71 in favor of Pitt. He made the first and missed the second and the game ended. Justin Farley led the Friars with 19 points, Jamel Thomas had 18 and Erron Maxey added 11. The Friars had won three in a row going into Pittsburgh. The streak included wins over Miami (59-57) on February 18th, Seton Hall (74-73) on February 11th and a 58-52 win over Villanova on February 14th.

THOMAS TIME...The Friars' junior All-BIG EAST candidate Jamel Thomas has scored in double figures in all 25 of PC's games this season and has a streak of 29 going back to last year. Thomas is just one of two BIG EAST players to score in double figures in every game this year along with Notre Dame's Pat Garrity. Garrity has been in double figures in 42 consecutive games over the last two seasons. For the year Thomas is averaging 17.9 points and 6.7 rebounds to lead PC in both categories. He now has 1,222 points in his career to rank 17th on PC's all-time scoring list.

FOR STARTERS...Pete Gillen used his 14th different starting lineup at Pittsburgh with Kendrick Moore and Corey Wright at guard, Jamel Thomas and Justin Farley at forward and Erron Maxey at center. Jamel Thomas is the only Friar to start all 25 games this season.
