SDSU’s LaCoursiere Named Women's Soccer Player of the Week Senior tallies five points in perfect weekend for the Aztecs.

Colorado Springs, Colo. – San Diego State senior forward Lori LaCoursiere has been selected as the Mountain West Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. LaCoursiere scored two goals and two assists for a total of five points as the Aztecs went 2-0 in the opening weekend of conference action. SDSU won both matches on the road, defeating Air Force 2-0 and Wyoming 6-0. The Aztecs continue league play this week with Utah on Thursday and BYU on Saturday. LaCourisere, of San Jose, Calif. (Leland High School), scored her first goal of the weekend on a penalty kick at the 73:46 mark to secure the Aztecs 2-0 victory. In Sunday’s match at Wyoming, LaCoursiere assisted on the game-winning goal by Megan Mattes at the 17:19 mark of the first half. She added her own unassisted goal in the 39th minutes to extend the SDSU lead to 2-0. LaCoursiere finished the day with another assist at the 50:58 mark of the game as Serena Pearson scored to make it a 4-0 Aztec lead. SDSU won the match 6-0. LaCoursiere leads the team with seven goals this season and is tied for the team lead in assists with eight. She is the Aztecs’ all-time leader in assists (38), goals (48) and total points (134). This is the first player of the week honor for LaCoursiere this season and the second for SDSU.
