Memphis, Tenn. - The Tigers posted a 3.48 team GPA, the third-highest in NCAA Division I, behind Wichita State University (3.56) and Eastern Michigan University (3.53), and were the only university in Tennessee at NCAA I, II, III or NAIA to be honored by the AVCA.

"This team has earned this award because they pursue not only athletic excellence, but academic excellence as well," Yerty said. "We earn honors such as this because of the tools Dr. Tim Sumner and Dot Hale provide our student-athletes through our academic services department."

"I'm very proud to have the opportunity to coach such a dedicated group of individuals," Yerty added.
