WACO, Texas - Baylor's women's golf team took the third place finish at the Mountain View Collegiate hosted by Colorado and Colorado State. The tournament is being played at the Mountain View Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.

The Bears, ranked 29th nationally by Golfstat, shot 307 Saturday and 305 Sunday to finish 36 over par with a total score of 612. Junior Melanie Hagewood and senior Tara Bateman led the Bears. Hagewood shot 76-76 to finish eight over par with a 152 and a tie for seventh place. Bateman finished with a total of 152 (75-77) to also tie her at seventh.

Finishing it up for the Bears, senior Nicole Johnson finished tied for 10th place after posting scores of 77 and 76 (153). Junior Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson shot rounds of 79 and 81(160) giving her the tie for 40th and sophomore Kelli McKandless posted 162 (86-76) for the 51st place tie.

Kansas State took the tournament title after shooting 597 followed by Arizona State (601) and Baylor (612).

The Bears host their next tournament at the Tapatio Springs Golf Resort in Boerne, Texas March 28-29.
