WACO, Texas - Baylor women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson was named Wednesday as one of 25 finalists for induction into the 15th annual Verizon Academic All-America Hall of Fame.

Four inductees will be picked from the pool of finalists that includes Utah Jazz point guard John Stockton, former Duke basketball standout Mike Gminski and former USC quarterback Paul McDonald, who led the Trojans to two Rose Bowls. The induction ceremonies are scheduled for June 27 in New York City.

The Hall of Fame was established in 1988 to honor former college student-athletes who have excelled in their professions and have made substantial contributions to their communities.

Mulkey-Robertson was a two-time Academic All-American as a point guard at Louisiana Tech and led the Lady Techsters to two national championships. She also was an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Award winner in 1984.

After 15 years as an assistant at her alma mater, Mulkey-Robertson took the Baylor job two years ago and has led the Lady Bears to a record of 48-15 and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.

The list of finalists also includes former football players Dave Rimington of Nebraska and Kip Corrington of Texas A&M, basketball standouts Alvan Adams of Oklahoma and Jim Paxson of Dayton and former baseball player Rick Cerone of Seton Hall.
