April 23, 2002

WACO, Texas - Baylor Lady Bear head women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson announced today the signing of Ebony Jackson to a National Letter of Intent to attend Baylor this fall.

Jackson, a 5-5 guard from Arlington, Texas, comes to Baylor after playing her prep career at Arlington's Sam Houston High School. She led area Class 5-A in scoring this season, averaging 24.6 points a game. Jackson was also named District 8-5A Offensive Player of the Year, second team all-state by the Texas Sportswriters Association and All-Area by the Dallas Morning News. In addition, Jackson holds the Arlington city points record in a game with 44.

"Having lost Nicole Collins and Sheila Lambert at the point guard position, Ebony will help fill that void," said Mulkey-Robertson.

Jackson's signing bring Baylor's total to three. Chameka Scott and Sophia Young signed in the early signing period in November.

Baylor signees:
Ebony Jackson - guard, Arlington, Texas (Arlington Sam Houston HS)
Chameka Scott - 5-11 guard, Houston, Texas (Clear Brook HS)
Sophia Young - 6-1, forward, St. Vincent, West Indies (Evangel Academy, Shreveport, La.)
